Ronald Cheng’s Street to Reopen

There were very few local Asian restaurants in Austin that I enjoyed more than Street – Ronald Cheng’s homage to Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai street foods.

So when Ronald called yesterday to tell me he was reopening in the space below Chinatown Mopac that used to house the iconic Musashino I was totally buzzed. It was likely an early Christmas present for me.

If the food is even a quarter as good as the original, then Marge and I will soon be slurping down bowls of steaming hot shrimp pho, classic Vietnamese egg rolls, and udon noodle soup.

It should be no surprise to people who read this blog that I believe Cheng is one of the most talented and creative  Chinese chefs to have ever plied his trade in the River City. The return of Street is simply great news for all Austin foodies.
