Sweetish Hill Closes; will Reopen with New Name, Ownership

Larry McGuire continues to evolve his Austin food empire with the acquisition of the iconic  Sweetish Hill Bakery which will soon reopen as Swedish Hill Bakery Café & Deli as part of McGuire Moorman Hospitality.

The idea is for the new Swedish Hill to serve as a baked goods source for McGuire’s other concepts like Lambert’s, Perla’s, Elizabeth Street Café, and others.

Whatever the idea, I will sorely miss the original Sweetish Hill and their wonderful cupcakes, Rugelach, cookies, cakes, and their amazing Turkey and Avocado sandwiches.

My best wishes to McGuire Moorman Hospitality, but they have their work cut out for them to surpass the original. It was indeed one of a kind and will be sorely missed by foodies all over Austin.
