Shandeez on Anderson Mill: Distinctive Persian Cuisine

If you have a occasional craving, as I do for Middle Eastern cuisine, then you should try Shandeez on Anderson Mill.

For starters the Hummus is smooth and nicely textured, and the Tabouli has a very fresh flavor and is not too spicy (as can sometimes be the case).

The meats are delicious and distinctive. The Soltani mixes skewers of steak kabobs and ground beef, served with a grilled tomato over basmati rice. This dish has a strong yet very appealing flavor. I also like the Baghali Polo with Lamb Shanks. You want flavor? Here ’tis. The lamb shanks are stewed with onion and saffron, and are a real treat.

The Kohresht Greymeh Bademjan is another find. This is tender beef with eggplant with basmati rice. It’s a beautiful dish.

You could drive by this place, but you wouldn’t want to. It’s next door to Filipino restaurant Meng Dedoy, and they make a hell of a one-two punch. Check out their full menu at shandeez.com.
