John and David Cho have given the foodies of the Lakeway and Steiner Ranch communities some genuine options with regard to great sushi and sashimi. David is the back of the house while John handles the front. They make a great team.

John was comfortably settled in NYC working for a tech firm when David (formerly of Midori) called back in 2008. The culinary education he’d received from his father who had opened San Antonio’s first real Japanese restaurant manifested itself in his decision, and he said yes. The rest is history.

Cho Sushi’s first store opened in Steiner Ranch to be followed by the Lakeway store which opened in 2012. In this interview John talks about his transition back to the restaurant business and the joy of keeping it all in the family.
