Joe Cave of The Pizza Cave is a pizza maker at heart. But he is also a compassionate and caring man.

So, in times like these who could argue with a little Italian penicillin? Many would agree that soups have always had curative (whether physical or psychological) powers.

Since Joe’s scaled back on his pasta offerings, he’s decided to ramp up his soup menu at The Pizza Cave and I, for one, am glad to see it.

Joe’s making creamy pepper soup with roasted bell peppers and jalapeños. He removes the seeds and the interior membranes so the flavor is retained but the heat is reduced. Man, I can taste that now!

Those familiar with Joe’s amazing Piggie Chowder will appreciate his Texas beef chowder which adds beef in place of pork along with mushrooms and chives.

And finally, Joe’s classic chicken noodle soup – a hot bowl of this has been known to work wonders. Even though I haven’t tried it yet, I am looking forward to my first bowl because I have tasted what Joe Cave can do with soup.

Patrons of The Pizza Cave should make these soups a top priority on their next takeout order!
