Mansion at Judges’ Hill Names New Exec Chef

The Mansion at Judges’ Hill, long one of Austin’s distinguished dining and lodging destinations at MLK and Rio Grande, has named Scott Mechura as its new executive chef.

Mechura has an impressive background with stops at The Timbers at Moonlight Lodge in Big Sky, MT as well as the Escondido Golf and Lake Club in Horseshoe Bay, Texas.

A James Beard foundation member, Mechura has teamed with such luminaries as Anthony Bourdain to prepare an exclusive 100-person dinner. He plans to unveil a menu featuring progressive American cuisine with ingredients sourced both locally and nationally when appropriate.

This has always been a good restaurant. It looks like it’s about to get better. I’ll be sharing the results of my first tasting with you soon!
