I’ve heard from the folks at III Forks and they already have 80 reservations on the books for Friday night. Talk about pent-up demand! Luckily for them, they have enough square footage to comfortably handle that number and stay within the 25 percent capacity range.

Of course gloves and masks will be mandatory, as will disposable menus.
Tables will also have to be spaced farther apart to insure social distancing.

How all this will work with regards to servers (many of whom will be managers) and customers remains to be seen, but the GM Brian will give me an update on how everything goes. However, the food will likely be great, the staff are consummate pros, and I expect they’ll handle everything with aplomb!

How the other downtown Austin restaurants will roll out remains to be seen. Remember that the ruling only allows restaurants to to open on May 1. When they actually choose to open is up to them. But I suspect a lot of eyes will be on III Forks Friday night!
