Hope for Austin Restaurants: Customers Appear to Be Stepping Up on COVID Safety

Posted by on Jul 26, 2020 in 2020 Re-openings, COVID-19

Several weeks ago I posted an article blasting Austin restaurant customers for their lax attitudes and in many cases almost complete indifference to restaurant safety protocols. Since then based on what I hear from local restaurants things have started looking up.

Of course this may be due to the dramatic spike in Austin COVID-19 cases that has dominated the local news. But whatever the reason, local restaurant customers appear to be coming more compliant with masking and social distancing protocols and I’m glad to see it.

I’m also glad to see restaurants like III Forks And The League Kitchen & Tavern getting deserved credit for raising the bar on restaurant safety.
Let’s hope this nascent trend continues !
