Coming Shortly – Pasta Wars: Rob’s Favorite Italian Restaurants

When Marge and I first came to Austin, great Italian restaurants were virtually nonexistent. There were a few like Basil’s, but by and large consistently excellent owner operated ones were hard to find.

But that was then. Luckily, the number of home grown Italian restaurants has steadily increased to the point where are some really great choices.

So, we’ve decided to do our first Pasta Wars.

This will be a wide ranging look at my favorite Italian places throughout the greater Austin area, from old favorites like Vespaio and Andiamo to newer spots like Juniper, Red Ash, Juliet Italian Kitchen, and Emmer and Rye. We’ll cover a lot of ground and hopefully give you terrific options.
