Austin’s Best Easter Brunches for 2021

Posted by on Mar 31, 2021 in Best Of, Holiday Dining

Hi Food fans. It has been awhile since we posted a holiday dining page and given all that’s occurred in the past year it’s my distinct pleasure to bring you our recommendations for Easter brunch menus across the River City.

HYDE PARK BAR & GRILLE
Founder and Owner Bick Brown has kept this  iconic spot percolating throughout the pandemic with a constant eye toward safety and quality. His Easter brunch offerings are consistent with that philosophy. The menu just ripples with Hyde Park favorites and there isn’t much I would’t recommend.

Ciclo Brunch Four Seasons Austin Texas

FOUR SEASONS
This is probably the quintessential brunch favorite for years now. Elmar Prambs continues to make culinary magic at this wonderful location just above Lady Bird Lake. The Easter menu is a typical Prambs extravaganza and should not be missed.

FONDA SAN MIGUEL
When Tom Gilliland and Miguel Ravago opened this restaurant almost 40 years ago, Austin had never seen a Mexican restaurant that digressed from the Tex Mex fare of that era. Mixing a blend of coastal and interior cooking, the place took off like a rocket and launched a Sunday Brunch that is still SRO all this years later.

Gilliland also resisted the temptation to cave in to Greg Abbott’s 100% solution. He has kept capacity down in deference to the safety of staff and customers alike and the Easter brunch is going to be a sight to behold. Sign me up!!

III Forks Wagyu

III FORKS
Aside from holding the undisputed title as the best steakhouse in Austin, III Forks always delivers fantastic holiday fare built around their terrific Wagyu prime steaks and creative amalgam of seafood fishes offered by Chef Erick Nixon. Just take a look at the menu and you’ll see what I mean!

HOOVER’S COOKING
One of the best ways I can think of to have an Easter feed is at Hoover’s Cooking on Manor Road.

Hoover Alexander is the dean of Southern Comfort food in Austin and the maker of perhaps the best smothered pork chops to be found anywhere. Additionally, his legendary hoe cakes are more than just a nod to African American history but stand on their own as the ultimate tour de force of  taste!

CHINATOWN WESTLAKE
While there may be no specific correlation between holiday dining and dim sum for most people, there has always been one for our family.

And that means a visit to Chinatown Westlake. There’s a reason we wake up on Sunday mornings craving fried vegetable or pork dumplings, shu mai, sesame balls, and the endless amounts of tasty delicacies that roll by on the carts.

I couldn’t think of a better place to dine on Easter Sunday.
