Pictures from the Star
Chefs Gala at the Saveur Texas Hill Country Wine and Food Festival
Hundreds of revelers packed the
Driskill Friday night to sample innovative finger food creations and
wines from accross the state. The rooms were packed, and the star chefs
were at their very best. As you can tell from these pictures, if you
didn't get to go, you really missed a good evening. And hats off to
the Driskill for staging the event with a high degree of professionalism.

The Wild Horse Grill from Marble Falls dished up Wildhorse martinis.

Jeff Blank and the gang from Hudson's on the Bend served a green chile
masher
with a backstrap of venison.

Cafe Josie's Charles Mayes tempted us with jumbo shrimp cocktail with
pineapple guajillo cocktail sauce on bay scallop ceviche in a mango
habanero curry.

Elmar Prambs from the Cafe at the Four Seasons with
their special blackened shrimp with bleu cheese grits.

The ladies from Wink with poached asparagus wrapped with flank streak
with soy aji mirin marinade.

The maestro himself, David Bull, from the Driskill Grill.

Ranch 616, helmed by Kevin Williamson, served venison chili frito pie
in actual frito bags.
With a mandarin orange and pineapple salsa.

Terry and Robert from my favorite french restaurant, Aquarelle.

Dave Herman from The Range in Salado.

Brennan's dished up some killer banana's foster, that essential New
Orleans treat.

These ladies appeared to be enjoying themselves.
