Vodka Fest at Cool River: You Shoulda Been There

Shane Street, proprietor of Cool River and the good folks at Block Distributors and Glazer's, Austin's leading vendors of wine and liquor to the restaurant community, put on a vodka fest on Wednesday, September 24th.

Yours truly was on hand to report the action. There were many attractive young ladies serving up over 20 brands. My favorite vodkas of the night: Grey Goose (orange flavored), Tito's, (local boy makes good), Stoli, and Tanqueray. I also had a Grey Goose martini with Godiva Chocolate Liquer that was delightful. Least favorite was the potato inspired Chopin.

The book is still out on Sky. Although they had a woman with Blue Hair who was very congenial. Have to taste it some more.

Nonetheless, I marvelous time was had by all. Sorry you couldn't make it, but the pictures do tell a story.

The Tanqueray booth was a big hit. The girls both alleged that they drank
nothing but Tanqueray

Ciroc Vodka had a very pleasing, crisp taste. Nice with a little grape
juice

Sky vodka had a girl with Blue hair and a blue dress pouring from Blue
bottles. She asked me what I did and I said "food critic." She replied, so
you're a "fruit cake?"
Well I guess they kind of sound similar.

Fruja is a flavored drink designed to be served with Vodka. I liked the
raspberry flavor.Believe it or not, this woman teaches 3rd grade. My third
grade teacher never looked like that

Absolut still kicks butt. Absolut-ly
