Batter Up for Virginia Wood at Lenoir on July 1st

Posted by on Jun 21, 2017 in News

Virginia Wood, one of the best loved and most respected food writers in Austin and Food Editor of the Austin Chronicle for 17 years, needs our help.

She has battled through a series of dire illnesses over the past years and it now appears that she will need to be moved to a permanent critical care facility. Various fundraisers have been organized to raise funds to supplement the fees which Medicare will not cover.

On July 1st, thirty of Austin’s best pastry chefs will convene at Lenoir on South 1st St. from 1-4p. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of their goods will go toward deferring Virginia’s expenses.

To learn more about this and other benefits or how to donate to the fund go to the Austin Food and Wine Alliance’s Facebook page and reference Batter Up for Virginia.

Virginia is one of the kindest and most giving people I have ever met. It is moving to see the Austin food community rallying around her.
